Product Description
C17200 Beryllium Copper (AMS 4535) is the most specified copper beryllium and is available at Morgan Bronze in both Solution and Precipitation Heat Treated tubing as well as Solution Heat Treated Rod and Bar. In its age hardened condition C17200 attains the highest strength and hardness of any commercial copper based alloy. The ultimate tensile strength can exceed 200 ksi and the hardness approaches Rockwell C45. This alloy is used in bearings and pivoting members for aircraft landing gear, bushings and washers for tri-cone drilling bits, pressure housings for magnetometers and other instruments, as well as resistance welding applications.
Other terms for this alloy are: Copper Beryllium Bar; ASTM B 643 Alloy 17200; Copper Beryllium Tube; AMS 4650; C 17200; AMS 4535; Alloy 25; SAE J463; ASTM B 196 Alloy 17200; CuBe2; BeCu
Notice: The weights listed are the best estimates of the actual weights we will ship. They are a combination of the calculated theoretical weights and an average of actual weights. Our weights are conservative to the heavier side but there may be slight variations in weight from bar to bar.
The Physical, Fabrication and Thermal Properties shown here represent reasonable approximations suitable for general engineering use. Due to commercial variations in compositions and to manufacturing limitations, they should not be used for specification purposes.
